The FAMOUS Questions/Gender Predictions...

There are a couple of questions I often get asked about this pregnancy...

"Is this pregnancy different than your first one?"
The answer is, yes. Not in a bad way, in a way that I did not have any symptoms AT ALL, especially in the beginning. I know most people would have been grateful, but honestly, it scared me to death. It scared me so badly that I went in to lab work at 5 weeks and a few days after. The doctor called me to assure me my levels "were DEFINITELY rising", so much so that they were in the twin range. No worries, it's only ONE. (Secretly, I would LOVE twins... SHHH)

Now there has been some other differences that came later on.  The main differences being my face is spotted like a cheetah. I've never had acne, not even in high school, but it hit me this pregnancy. Also, around 7 weeks I started getting nauseous in the evenings around 3:00, not vomiting by any means, just sick at my stomach (it was morning time with Gage). It stopped a couple of weeks later. Lastly, my cravings are much different this go around, which I talked about in yesterday's post.

"Do you want a girl this time?"
I have always pictured myself with all boys. I have never really been one that HAS to have a girl. I can see the boys being best friends, especially being so close in age. I can also picture matching outfits with their names monogrammed on the front. I LOVE being a mommy to a boy, every minute of it.

That brings me to the next questions I get,

"Will you be upset if it's a girl?"
ABSOLUTELY NOT. Will I be shocked? ABSOLUTELY. Will I be thrilled, OF COURSE

Having a best friend that struggled for years to get pregnant and being with them every step of the way, being able to get pregnant so easily is such a blessing. Boy or girl, it doesn't matter to me. I simply thank God everyday for giving be the blessing of being a mommy.

Everyone's predictions?
Daddy- initially it was girl, briefly changed to boy, now we are back to girl.
Mommy- boy
Aunt Lynie- boy
Best friends- 2 girl, 3 boy
MiMi- I think it's boy.
Poppy- girl
Mrs. Pody's class- girl

Chinese gender charts- Most of them say girl, obviously I know these are bogus, but it's always fun to pass the time!
Heart rate- Still at 164. About the same as Gage, his was actually a little faster.

This is so exciting, I love gender reveal days!!! We have a creative way we are telling family, and I will be back to post! We find out today at 1:00, but family/friends will not know until 6:00!!

Have a great Friday!

16-17 Week Bumpdate...

(Picture taken at 15 weeks)
How Far Along?16 Weeks and 4 days
Size of Baby P? 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces

Maternity Clothes? I pulled out the maternity pants around 13 weeks. I am currently wearing maternity pants but regular shirts. I have the tubs out ready to hang up all the shirts too!
Weight Gain? This is very different from my first pregnancy. I am not gaining weight near as quickly as I did with Gage. I got on the scale Saturday and I have lost a pound, definitely not used to that. I still had on a few pounds from my first pregnancy, so I'm thinking that is why I am gaining at a slower pace.
Stretch Marks/belly button?Nope! I never got them with Gage so lets hope that happens again. I will be honest though, the belly button isn't too pretty, I don't think it will ever recover!haha
Gender? We find out TOMORROW!! We will have our gender reveal party to reveal the news to our families and friends.
Sleep?Same as Gage. The insomnia started shortly after I got a positive test. I stare at the ceiling for about 2-3 hours a night.
Food Cravings? The craving have definitely been crazy this time: lemon & salt, dill pickle chips, hot & sour soup, egg rolls, fried dill pickles, and orange juice. It seems to be salty/sour cravings!

What I Miss?Nothing I really miss... yet! I am already looking forward to getting back to pre, PRE pregnancy weight!
What I am loving? Preparing for the gender reveal party!
Movement? I started feeling little wiggles fairly early, which I think is common with 2nd pregnancies. I started feeling them around 15 weeks.

Best Moment(s) of the Week and other random updates?
    •  I haven't updated you guys on everything. The beginning of school is always crazy and blogging is put on the back burner. Most people think this pregnancy was an "UH-OH" considering I got pregnant when Gage was 9 months old. BUT it wasn't! Being a teacher, you always try to hit those PRIME months. I sure did not want to wait another year and THIS time it happened exactly how we planned (Thank you, Lord). I will be on maternity leave starting the beginning of March and then summer will arrive shortly after my return. This timing is much better than having a baby the day after school starts, which happened the first time around!:) I wouldn't trade it for the world though...

I will not be doing weekly updates, but I plan to do them every few weeks!

    Gage's First Haircut!

This is picture overload, but I was so proud of my boy! I think he looks so precious sitting in the big chair looking like such a big boy. I honestly was not expecting him to sit so still and behave so well, but he definitely proved me wrong!

    BEFORE:

    Making car noises...

    AFTER:

And he received his first blow-pop for being such a good boy!!

He put his little locks in a baggy and got a "First Haircut Certificate".
