Mother's Day Weekend...

Friday night we went to eat dinner at Logan's Roadhouse then did a little shopping at Target (I think we went to Target last weekend too... oh well!;)
Side note: When I got home Friday afternoon, I noticed the little fur ball below wasn't acting like himself.

Not to mention, vomiting about 5 times (on my brand new carpet). Honestly, this is not unusual for Camden because he eats random objects like ear plugs, string, etc. You heard that correctly, my cat eats objects. He's a weirdo. Anyways, to make the story as short as possible, I woke up early Saturday morning to take him to the emergency vet (yes, we ALWAYS have to get sick on the weekends. I'm sure you can relate). They did some blood work and all levels were elevated. She decided to keep him 48 hours and run an IV because he was so dehydrated. They call me Monday morning, and his levels are still elevated. The doctor thinks he may have Chronic Renal Failure or Kidney Failure. Just great, my 7 year old cat is about to die...fabulous. She left that information by message so I called to ask the doctor to call me back and explain it in MY terms, if you know what I mean. I teach 8 year olds, I do not understand your fancy medical terms. She called back and during the conversation, I told her about him eating random objects and asked her to do an X-Ray of his stomach. Not even 15 minutes later, she called back. Mommy's instincts are always right... He had eaten the tip of a door stopper. Wonderful. What does that mean?! SURGERY. Wonderful.
They did surgery on him after lunch yesterday and hoping to pick him up this afternoon. He better be glad he's cute and it's up to my to save his life, not his father's decision, if you know what I mean.
After the eventful morning, Saturday night we went to my precious niece's dance recital. Y'all, my niece is honestly the sweetest, most selfless 11 year old you will ever meet. She did so good! You can just say... I'm a proud aunt!:)
We ended our Saturday with dinner at Cracker Barrel which I could not even stomach because I had a horrible migraine. I will not even go into detail about that, I get them about once a month. Nauseated and no medicine can touch them. Needless to say, daddy was on baby duty while I slept it off.

While out and about, daddy completed Gage's pallet toy chest. It turned out perfect!
Here it is under the photo gallery! THANKS DADDY!
Of course, I had to get the toys organized ASAP!

On a much brighter note, (I feel like Debbie Downer) I got to spend my first Mother's Day (I saw on Facebook, someone said, "Happy Stretch Mark Day", thought that was cute) with this precious boy.
Not to sound too cheesy, but sometimes I just look at him and can't believe he's mine. I am so blessed that this little guy calls me ma,ma,ma,ma and hearing that will never get old.

Sporting his golfer look for church Sunday...
We headed to celebrate my first Mother's Day at church. Our pastor always preaches that sweetest sermons on Mother's Day.
Every year, they give a hanging basket and devotional to the youngest mom and oldest mom.
I got the youngest mommy this year... just sayin'! ;)

We planted a little rose bush out back too.
Lee's mom insisted on cooking Mother's Day lunch so we didn't argue.
My mom, dad, and my brother came over Sunday evening and we celebrated by ordering pizza. Wanted to stay at home so that idea sounded perfect to me!

Thank you Lord for choosing me to be the mommy to this little blessing...

Weekend Memories...

Friday night, we were on our last can of cat food so that requires us to go "across town" to PetCo so I can get my discount! While out and about, we ate dinner at Outback and ended our venture with a little shopping at Target.

Saturday, we finally put up our photo gallery in the family room!
**Our strategy worked perfectly. We got some old wrapping paper and flipped it to the back. We traced each picture and when ready we leveled and hung it on the wall. Lee tapped a nail through the wrapping paper to mark when each picture should be hung. It was fairly easy, especially when you are the supervisor. :)
MiMi had an assistant while mapping it out.

I think it turned out perfectly! Now daddy has to finish little man's toy chest to go up under it!
(I plan to continue our home tour this summer when the momma is officially a SAHM for 3 months;)

Aunt Lynie was on baby duty while this was all going down. I caught them playing peek-a-boo. :)

Saturday night, we joined my parents for dinner at Firebird's.
Firebird's is in the same parking lot as our next stop, buybuybaby, so Gage got to ride in mommy's lap. He thought he was so cool, he was grinning ear-to-ear!

I love going in buybuybaby and looking around. We took back a few items we never used and got a store credit to use toward our big boy car seat. He was so stinkin' cute trying them out.

Sunday morning, I prepared fruit pizzas for a baby shower I was helping out with at church.
These cookies are delicious... my favorite! :)

Like most Sundays, we ended up in the floor of the nursery. Now Gage has a friend that is just his size! It is so cute to see them interact and play with one another. Luke is a couple of weeks younger than Gage... sweet boys!

Sunday evening, we took a nap and decided to pick up a pizza and relax at home!

Another weekend full of memories...

Happy 8 Months, Gage!

Monthly photo-shoots get more interesting every month. He started out in a great mood! The first snap and I got the first picture below. He kept wanting to pull up on the bed and got VERY upset because mommy kept sitting him down.

And yes, I realize his mo-hawk is not centered... let's just pray I do not have girls! :)
Even with a jacked-up mo-hawk, he's pretty darn cute!

I tried to center his mo-hawk here...

ANNND... HE lost it!

We changed things up a bit and did a photo shoot outside.
He is mean-mugging in every picture... little stinker! Needless to say, we needed a nap!

The last picture could possibly be my favorite picture... ever!

Stats:
**I will add the scale pics when the scale starts working!**

Milestones:
He started the month pulling up to his knees then he started pulling up to his feet bu the end of the month.

Getting into crawl position and sitting back up... this is his favortie trick!
You can lay down, get in crawling position, and sit up
Crawling (when he wants to). He will crawl to something he is not supposed to have, like TV remotes, iphones, and computers!  You get anywhere you want some how some way!
Holding bottle and sippy cup independently...

Destroying the house... not sure if that's a milestone but he is into everything!

He is waving bye-bye...

Firsts:
We honestly didn't celebrate many firsts this month. We spent most of our time enjoying this beautiful weather!
We celebrated our first Easter as a family of three!

He got his first boo-boo:(

Loves:
He loves being outside! We take walks in the stroller, smart trike, and wagon. We walk every afternoon that it is pretty outside.

He LOVES riding on the mule and "driving" in daddy's lap.

His new favorite food is spinach and apples mixed.

He loves cheese curls and yogurt melts! Pretty much anything you put in his mouth...

His favorite toys are water bottles and tearing up magazines...so much for the hundreds of dollars we spent on toys!

Sleeping in the middle of mommy and daddy.

Dislikes:
Clothes going over his head
Being left alone
Peas/green beans... he literally gags. I tasted them and I have to say I do not blame him!

Other Updates:

He eats oatmeal/fruit mix in the morning, a veggie and fruit for lunch, and a veggie and fruit for dinner. We switched food to his main meals and 6 ounce bottles in between. He eats pinches of whatever mommy has on her plate. He eats anything you put in his mouth and enjoys every minute of it! He wears 9 and 12 month clothes and size four diapers. He takes naps about every 2 hours. He wakes up once a night on a good night, which still includes a bottle.  Sleeps right by our bed in his pack n' play and usually ends up in the middle of us by 3:00. HEY, Momma's got to do what  works! Hoping to transition to crib/room over summer!
